Friends

Bryan on our old steps, St. Louis, MO, 2006

My good friend Bryan Reckamp (above) recently updated his website. It looks fantastic (way to go Bryan!). Check it out if you have a minute and give him a shout. He's currently riding his bike across the country and he's probably somewhere in Oklahoma or Colorado, but he has an iphone, so there you go.

Beach bound

Riley towel face, Outter Banks, NC, 2006

We're headed to the shore tomorrow morning. It will be Eliot's first time seeing the ocean and I can't wait. This photo (of our nephew, who was very close to Eliot's current age) was taken on our last beach vacation, when Heather was only slightly pregnant with Eliot. It seems like ages ago. I can't wait to smell the salty air. See you soon!

Snow storm, Gram's house, Nolo, PA 1970(?) ©Joe Visnesky

I brought a bunch of negative and prints back from PA a couple years ago and I'm finally getting around to scanning them. This particular image was taken in front of my Grandmother's house. It's really great to find these photos again as I'm working on the project about my Grandmother. We were just in PA for Thanksgiving (around the time this photo was most likely taken) and while there was snow, there was much, much less. I'm really taken with this shot. Everything about it seems really timeless to me. Even the old car is something you could still run into Western Pennsylvania. I guess this is the time of year for nostalgia and I love it!
